Native to the arid regions of the US, Mexico, and South America.

Full sun. Can tolerate drought conditions.

Rarely. Around once a month in the spring and summer and may only need a drink every two to three months in the autumn and winter. Use the soak-and-dry method. Use your fingers to ensure the soil is completely dry before watering. After watering profusely, make sure the soil drains completely before watering again. Too much water, or water that is not fully drained, can cause the Opuntia to rot.
