Full sun to part shade. Can tolerate light frost.

Preference

Strelitzias like water. Saturate them with water and let the water fully drain, and then water again when the surface of the soil feels dry again. In the hot months, it may need to be watered twice a week, and in the cooler months once a week may suffice. The strelitzia likes its leaves to be regularly wiped and misted.
