PACHYPODIUM LAMEREI

Botanical Name

Pachypodium Lamerei.

Nickname

Madagascar Palm.

Birthplace

Native to Madagascar and Africa.

Favourite Environment

This is a sun-loving houseplant so always pick the sunniest spot you have. The swollen stem grows upwards with the leaves surrounding the crown gradually falling and then growing new ones as it ages. So do not panic if leaves fall off in the winter; it is part of its growing cycle.

Drinking
Preference

Pachypodium Lamerei has typical watering needs for a succulent. It's best to use the “soak and dry” method, and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water more during the hotter summer months, but still only roughly every 3-4 weeks.  In Winter you may need to cut back and water even less, to prevent the roots rotting in the cooler conditions. Apply a fertiliser in Spring, if required.
