MONA LAVENDER
Botanical Name
Plectranthus ‘Plepalila.’
Nickname
Mona Lavender.
Birthplace
Native to South Africa, and was, in fact, bred at the famous Kirstenbosh Botanical Garden in Capetown.
Favourite Environment
Choose a shaded to semi-shade location with a moist but well drained soil. A tropical, hardy little plant, this purple charmer is easy to grow (even for those without a green thumb) and will thrive with minimal care.
Drinking
Preference
The Mona lavender will grow best when provided with both regular and even moisture. It is considered a "thirsty" plant and should be watered every few days. A light pruning after flowering will help to maintain a neat shape and encourage denser growth of foliage.
