While today bamboo grows in nearly every part of the world, it is thought to have originated in China.

Full sun to part shade. 

Bamboo loves water and can be drenched daily, especially for the first 6-8 weeks after potting. Don’t let the soil dry out. Once established, it may be sufficient to water every 2-3 days. A handful of slow-release granular lawn fertiliser with a high nitrogen content can be applied every 2-3 months to keep foliage green and promote new growth. Bamboo that is fertilised and watered generously will stay green and full and tall. Expect some leaves to yellow and fall from time to time, but if it is extreme, it is a sign it needs a lot more water and fertiliser.
