Native to Southeast Asia, a plant of the ginger family.
Favourite Environment
Full sun to part shade, and will look their best with afternoon shade. Quite cold tolerant. Grows well anywhere in Australia.
Drinking
Preference
Prefers rich, moist soil and regular watering (one to twice a week) during the warmer months. Allow to dry out slightly during winter. Hardy once established. Apply a general fertiliser following flowering, and remove spent flower stalks as required.
